Archaeological research at Oslonki focuses on the study of the earliest farmers of the North European Plain of 4000 B.C.E., continuing work begun in 1976 at the nearby site of Brzesc Kujawski.

The Museum conducts archaeological research on prehistoric and early historic sites, including major research at the Neolithic sites of Brzesc Kujawski and Oslonki with international collaboration. Publishes journal Prace i Materialy Muzeum Archeologicznego i Etnograficznego.

Article by Lech Czerniak, Wlodzimierz Raczkowski and Wojciech Sosnowski which demonstrates that aerial survey can be a useful tool for Polish archaeology.
